dude i recommend finishing it out! it just gets sooo good and when he dives into Revelation its really good. He breaks down all the crazy visuals and what the hard parts mean really well i think.

I love his youtube vids too. i need to dive back in and catch up.

Fr. Mike is awesome. He really does a great job applying scripture to our everyday lives.

There’s a free app called Hallow. You can pretty much set it up to your own schedule. Daily readings, Fr. Mikes homily’s etc. It’s ran by Fr. Mike, Mark Wahlburg Jonathan Romine (Chosen series) to name a few.

It’s a really great app.

Bingo Yoder. It is important to remember that the biblical manuscripts we have today are in 99 percent agreement with one another. Yes, there are some minor differences, but the vast majority of the biblical text is identical from one manuscript to another. Most of the differences are in punctuation, word endings, minor grammatical issues, word order, etc.—issues easily explainable as scribal mistakes or changes in spelling rules. No important theological issue is thrown into doubt by any supposed error or contradiction. Biblical manuscripts from the fifteenth century agree completely with manuscripts from the third century. We can have absolute confidence that the Bible we have today is almost exactly identical to what the apostles and prophets wrote 2,000-plus years ago.

You want critical thinking ? Here ya go .
Take the four gospels , five if you believe in the gospel of Mary .
But four distinctly different versions of how it went down . Only one version can be right .
So , that means 75% is wrong . So , take the 75% wrong figure and apply it to the bible in toto , you get a 25% correct figure .
In what world would I believe something that at best might be 25 % right ? With that kind of error margin what could possibly hold any meaning ?


I do apologize to anybody that thinks I'm upset or lashing out at any one individual . I'm not , but maybe I'm not the best at communicating on here in text .

my wife has the hallow app and absolutely loves it. I have been playing with signing up for the paid side of things but dont know that i have enough time in the day. super lame excuse because i know i can find the time if i want to... okay maybe ive talked myself into it now haha.

People struggling to find meaning in their lives , when faced with the hardship of everyday living , divorce , having a baby with birth defects , whatever their struggle is , and they reach out to the lord , and receive nothing ?
Quite often they turn to suicide , feeling beneath their Gods love and unworthy . All their friends say "He seem like the most stable guy I knew ". "Gee , I wonder what happened ".
Christianity has become weaponized in todays society , against gays , blacks , trans peoples , everyone it seems .
So pretending there's a god does a lot of harm , in my opinion .

I said this in a previous post. 2 people kill a deer, one legally, one out of season with a spot light. Both killed a deer, both were hunting for a deer, but both are not hunters. Some Christians are Christians by name only and give others a bad name, just like a poacher gives hunters a bad name.

evils are done by people flat out. people can claim to do bad in the name of good but thats a crock of shit. they are not good period the end and any good Christian would also reject evil doings regardless of "what" its under. people are broken and flawed. they have impure hearts. the actions of one do not speak for the many.

Often times people, like yourself, like to put God in a box of how He should be. I hate to break it to you, thats not how it works. God bends the knee to no one. So you bring up the example of people wanting something from God, not getting it and then un-aliving themselves. That is quite the stretch honestly. Most of the people who "dont get what they asked for" are not seeing things with an open heart. God may put a person in your life to answer a prayer, but if you're so closed off or not open to how He is going to answer, youll miss it. Or if that isnt good enough for you. Dont know what to tell you.

I like that you bring up this example though because i will counter with the insane amount of testimony that is the opposite of yours. The amount of people on the verge of un-aliving and finding Christ saved them, gave them purpose and a reason to live. They found peace in Christ.

lets play a fun game, you find a number of people who have done what you claimed and ill find a number of life saving testimony and we can compare?

I’m pretty sure you missed my point. I’m speaking strictly of having faith and being wrong, when you die and then what nothing? Or if you are not a believer and brig faced with God in your end and Christianity is true well. What then.

And I have said in a past post the past atrocities carried out by people in the name of Christianity are the sins of the people committing them. That is people doing people things. Not practicing our faith the way it is commanded.

You clearly do not know the history of the church , the crusades , the inquisition , protestant vs Catholics , the support of slavery and the Mormon massacre , all done by people that claimed they were "Good" Christians .

The "ugly time" you mentioned in the above sure sounds like you are trying to minimize the "ugly thing[sic]" implying it was done so long ago, it could not possibly apply to your church today. And my "[sic]" is referenced as surely you did not mean a single atrocity by the church, but many, heck I'd say, even 1000's upon 1000's of atrocities.

And lastly, would the pope, or other most senior church leaders, fall under the "ugly people" you referenced?

If not, you are going to be very disappointed in your church if you watch the 20 minute video I linked.
