Been Rifle Hunting for 10 years now, and have been wanting to make the switch to bowhunting for Elk and possibly an early Mule Deer season.

Being completely new to Archery Hunting I have a few basic questions on gear recommendations......

I've already got a bow....its a Bowtech D-350 that I was gifted when they came out in 2010. Looking to stick with this bow as I already have it, and have shot it quite a bit.

*I have a cheaper Truglo 5 Pin site on there....Looking for suggestions on upgrades. I really like the CBE sights and Spot Hogg, but what are other good brands to check out? Not sure about adjustable vs fixed pin. Ive only ever shot a fixed pin.

*I do not have a stabilizer and am not sure where to start. Any suggestions on brand or length?

*I do not have a quiver but am very attracted to the Tightspot quivers. Any other suggestions?

*I currently have a cheaper whisker biscuit type rest, but a drop-away rest is eventually what i would like. Any suggestions?

*Where to start on broadheads, arrow weight, length, spine, etc? I have only ever shot field tips out of the bow. Oregon is a non-mechanical broadhead state.

I do have a good scott hunting release.

As I stated above, im a complete beginner to bowhunting so any criticism or suggestions are welcome.

Almost forgot a final question....

Had a buddy pull the bow back without a rest a few years back and the string derailed off the cam. Got the string set back on the cam with a bow-press but the string has a mark in it where it got smashed. Its not cut thru but it definitely shows signs of abrasion. I would like to get the string replaced. Is there a good place to buy one or would I be better off having it restrung at a local pro-shop?

Thanks again

Arrows go by length and draw weight all manufacturers have a chart. Yes have the string replaced it will be worth it not to worry about it. Do you have a local bow shop? Most everything else on your list is personal preference go to the shop and try a few different things

Best is to take a lesson from a top shooter and learn to shoot right...and make sure the bow fits you.

Its not the bow..........its the Indian

Bows are incredibly efficient thus almost all arrow/BH configs will work most of the time. A tapered fixed coc BH on a heavier arrow is best.
