Mine in size 36 weigh 0.95 pounds on an AWS H110 scale.

Absolutely. Any good seamstress should be able to do this quite easily.

The fabric on these pants is completely different, as is the fit. I really don't think they are similar in many ways except that they are built for warmer weather.

Vespers arrived.

Jury is out/undecided

Obviously first impressions wearing around the house. Lots to like, quality appears high.

Fabric is meh at first blush. Thicker and more substantial than I was expecting for a hot weather pant and it seems to lack some stretch in one direction. Circumference has good stretch length along the leg not so much. Not overly quite right out of the package.

I bind each step that has any knee lift. Bind is between the front of knee and seat. Makes the seat seam ride up a bit.

Waist is somewhat sharp on the inside edge.

Ankles are SLIM, but calves are great and I have big calves. Ankles I have to work at to get over my boot top. Will see if they catch and make the knee-seat bind worse.

I ordered per the sizing instructions, waist, length etc are good to great. Thighs have good room and I have bigger thighs than most, to the point I have to go up a waist size at times for thigh fit.

If I was trying on in the store these would probably stay in the store.
I have them so will put them through a proper test before finalizing thoughts. Brad has put too much thought, effort and testing into these to judge that quickly.

The Vesper just doesn’t wow me like the OV pant did out of the package

I've been traveling so haven't had time to respond to this, but let me say a couple things.

Vesper pant stretch-It is a 2-way stretch nylon fabric. 4-way stretch has it's advantages and disadvantages in a lightweight fabric. I and many other testers have worn the Vespers on I'm not even sure how many hunts now, and stretch has never been a concern. The fabric stretch is oriented to move longitudinally. I hate pants that restrict your movement, and the Vespers don't restrict your movement at all.

Fabric Weight on Vesper- I too was concerned about how it would breathe in hot weather when we started testing it. I've worn the Vesper's in Hawaii in real hot and humid weather, and I wore them for 11 days in Nevada in August in temps that were around 100 every day. Breathability is great and I was impressed with how well they did, which is why we went to production with this fabric.

The problem with all lightweight pant fabrics is durability. We could have tried something lighter, but then you start running into durability issues. The fabric we use on the Vesper has held up incredibly well. The other way you can go light is to use a tightly woven and noisey nylon fabric like you see on hiking pants at REI. But I have no interest in making a loud pant. So, I think if you weigh the trade-offs on durability, quietness and breathability you'll like the Vesper Pant fabric.
