As with all things on the internet, some things are just harder to find when you want a good source for information about a thing. The 22 GT has few reliable options for information due to it not being a SAAMI approved cartridge. I'm going to link the load data I've found on Rokslide and link those quotes in this thread along with discussing the data that I get for my barrels that were purchased through the LS Wild group buy from Preferred Barrel Blanks.

I'm starting out with a 20" PBB Tikka Hybrid Lite contour threaded barrel. I have 80. 80.5, 85.5, and 88 grain bullets from Hornady, Berger, and Sierra to test in Alpha brass. My plans are to find an easy load that pushes near 22CM speeds with easy load development and longer barrel and brass life. I want to use a temperature stable powder that gets me good velocities instead of chasing velocities with dirtier more temp unstable powders that are used in the 22 ARC. From my research, H4350 will be a good powder to start with that is both clean and temp stable. I have Redding Premium Die set and a Frankford Universal seating die set in case the Redding die has issues marking the bullets with the factory seating stem. I bought a nitrite coated Tikka action from LS Wild and will add my barrel to that action and put it all in a KRG Bravo Chassis to feed with AICS mags. I'll be using the new S2H scope on it when they arrive but will place one of my Maven RS1.2 on it for now. I will suppress it with US OG 6-S until the OG 22 is released. If testing goes well, I will put the action in a Rokstok Lite and it will become my primary hunting rifle.

In up coming posts I will be quoting 22 GT load data that has been posted in other threads that may be a source of information for others in one location.

22GT owner here. I find the GT case to be the happy medium between the 22 arc and the 22 creed. I'm running an 80 ELDM out of an 18" 22gt at 3080fps with 36.8 gr of h4350. So basically, the same as what I've seen Hornady factory 22 creed ammo do. Saves some powder and a lot of barrel life. The 22GT is essentially the same case capacity as a 22-250 just shorter with a 35 degree shoulder. Just a more efficient case design.

I tried the 88s in two different rifles this morning.
22 creedmoor with 7.5" twist bartlien finished at 20". With 39.0 grains of H430 the average was 3003 fps with no pressure signs. Just under .6moa 5 shot group. This was some hornady brass, id expect a little more speed with my normal alpha.

22 GT with 7" twist bartlien finished at 20". 36.0 grains of H4350 gave me 3025 fps, no pressure signs. Accuracy wasn't great, about .8 moa for 5 shot groups.
This gun is a sub .5 moa 5 shot group gun with hornady 88s. Probably need to play with seating depth a bit for the TMK.

Overall, they look very promising. I'll stretch the 22 creedmoor out at distance with them later in the week.

Here are a couple of posts made in different threads in relation to the 22 GT that include some load data. On has load data for the 80 ELDM and the other is with the 88 TMK both using H4350 powder. Should be nice and easy on things with a sub 40 grain load.

Hodgdonreloading.com data for the 22 GT for the 80 grain, 85.5 grain, and 88 grain bullets using H4350 and CCI 450 magnum SR primers. Please verify and use at your own risk.

Curious if the 22GT is commercially loaded? I “want” a fast 22 with heavy bullets. Something in the 88gr + running over 3400. I’ve thought ARC -not fast enough with heavy bullets - CM finicky and eats barrels - 22-250 I would go back to but cannot locate ballistics on the 88’s for them when hand loaded. Following this thread to see how you like the chambering.

Current there are a couple of boutique ammo loaders but no commercial support as it is not a SAAMI approved cartridge. The 22 GT will not get you to 3400 fps with an 88 grain bullet. You would be looking at 3100 to 3200+ when pushed hard and in the 3000 to 3100+ when on cruise control with a soft load.

I’ve had mine for almost 2 years now. I wish i had more load data to share, but i have literally only ever shot 80elms and h4350 through mine. It shoots so retardedly well that i haven’t ever tried anything else.

Happy to answer any questions someone may have though!

I can't wait to get some bullets down range. I hope I can find a load that shoots the 88's as well as your 80's do! Thank you for participating.

I have read that the Hornady 88s can be more finicky. And if you did 7 twist, you’ll be PUSHING them rpm wise. The 80 is VIOLENT on coyotes. I haven’t shot anything larger with this one (yet) but it leaves grapefruit sized holes out the back of most dogs. Would not hesitate in the slightest to shoot deer or elk with them.

Only reason i dont hunt with mine more is because it is 13 pounds. I built a lighter 6gt for big game, but i am a huge GT case fan. I own 2 6mm and one 22 now.

I can attest, 80 eldm’s and h4350 shoot real well out of my 22GT as well. And the 80s are quite destructive on game. This rifle has taken 9-10 big game animals at this point. Here is a whitetail my 10yo daughter shot last year from about 230 yards, slightly quartered away.

A short 22 or 6 gt has been on my radar as a general purpose suppressed rifle for a little while now but the availability of 16” data seems to be lacking. Primary use is targets and coyotes out to 500 yards with a possibility of deer at shorter ranges. Based on the numbers it seems like the increased velocity of the 22 would do better for my uses in a shorted barreled shorter range gun.

Thinking either dual loading 69gr ELD-VT and 80gr ELD-X or just running the 80gr ELD-X for everything.

FWIW, the case capacity to bore area ratio on .22 GT matches that of 6mm Creedmoor.

6mm GT matches the ratio for 6.5mm Creedmoor.

Depends on your range requirements and location. At hunting DAs my 20” 6gt (2820 MV) is a 7-800 yard rifle for 1800 fps.

Can’t go wrong with either though.

22in 6gt, 120fb, alpha brass Cci 450 primers, hawkhill 7.5tw bow4 contour.

33.2gr N150 with 80eldm jumping 45k was extremely accurate, 5 shot groups at 400y were typically 1.3-1.7". This load was 3180-3200mv

36.1gr H4350 85.5gr Berger lrht, 35k off lands, this load also shoots extremely well, running 3150-3170mv.

I use a RCBS matchmaster 6gt die with a 250id bushing, then run a 222 mandrel to set the necks around 0.0025 nk tension.
