The 22 creedmoor thread

So in your rifle, it sounds like the shiny ejector swipe is an unreliable tell for pressure.

I would stick with book loads only if it was me. With your setup the brass won’t reliably be able to tell how close to pressure we are until well above reasonable limits.

Good luck on your search for the speed powder.
Have any Staball65?
Good to know. I don’t have any Staball6.5 but I might pick some up.

Might try some XBR.

Watch the h4350. Lots of people report it burning barrels faster than other powders.

Im a RL and Ram Shot guy. Bot have very consistent powders with calm burns that helped me to really tune recoil.

RL-23 and RL-26 have been my go to powders for the 22 Creed for a while now.

Billings, MT Scheels had RL-23 on the shelves when I was in there yesterday.

I'm looking for some help with a superformance 69eldvt load. I couldn't find load data for that bullet specifically so I used hornady data for the 68/69 grain match. I loaded up 2 of each at one grain intervals from 43 to 47 grains in Peterson brass with fed 215m primers. 24" proof barrel with 60 ish rounds on it.

I have my thoughts but I will hold them in before showing what I had. I did not experience stiff bolt lifts and couldn't see any swipes. Any opinions welcome and appreciated.

What is your question?

I did a ladder with N555 and ran the 69 eldvts up to 3700 with no signs of pressure. I dropped down and settled on 3600 fps.

Sorry, I guess I was asking about pressure and trying to read primers. I wasn't very clear.
Those primer all looked acceptable.
Looks like you’ve got a slightly oversized firing pin hole one your bolt.
But the primers themselves have nice round edges.

-Were you having any bolt lift issues?
-How was accuracy?
-How cold was it when you were shooting?
-Making sure they don’t do anything dangerous when they are baking in the summer sun would be my next thing to test.

Don’t be sorry. The primers look fine to me. But I’m not the best with judging primers. Primers can be tough for me to judge though. A lot of factors go into it . I’ve seen flat primers on loads that weren’t over pressure.
