Ive never had an issue with Alpha SRP, hunt year round never a misfireAnyone running the Alpha SRP with 450s still seeing hang fires in the cold, even though they have the larger flash holes (0.080) relative to other brands SRP brass?

I did when I had a 22 creed barrel.Anyone running the Alpha SRP with 450s still seeing hang fires in the cold, even though they have the larger flash holes (0.080) relative to other brands SRP brass?
Damn thats crazy ive got several hundred rounds on this brass an never had a hang fire. I run 39.2 of Varget with 75 eldms. I did ladder testing with a bunch of different powder an never had an issue.I've had a hang fire happen twice with Alpha SRP and CCI 450. This was with Varget and the 62 gr ELDVT while working up a load last summer. It was odd - hear the firing pin drop, then split second later, the cartridge fired.
Only happened while doing load development and at the lower end of the charges I was testing (which were plenty full). Did not happen at all during the winter months when hunting predators.

I know with the LRP you'll see about 20fps more idk if you'll need to reduce charge or not. I went with SRP cause primers were harder to come across at the time I got over 4,000 of the 450s so I'll stick with them lol.Definitely weird. Only time it’s happened. I’m a good 150+ rounds past that with the same combo and no issues. Might go back the LRP brass once l retire this batch of the SRP.

Those are short pin fall actions. Usually in the realm of .200"-.220". I'm always surprised how well they do overall compared to others (Rem and Rem clones) that can have issues with less than .230"-.240" ish of fall.Zermatt TL3
As long as the firing pin has enough mass and velocity the fall shouldn't matter, right? Those are short pin fall actions. Usually in the realm of .200"-.220". I’ve shot down to -25* and haven’t had an issue yet.Anyone running the Alpha SRP with 450s still seeing hang fires in the cold, even though they have the larger flash holes (0.080) relative to other brands SRP brass?
The tl3 is short on fall, I measured mine it was around 0.200. All of my origins are near 0.240 which is spec to rem 700 clones. I'm unsure why zermatt went short on the tl3, the cocking & opening forces are lighter VS the origin but not by much. I prefer the origin over the tl3 for non competition rifle builds. Those are short pin fall actions. Usually in the realm of .200"-.220". No, pin fall typically has a lot to do with it and is usually more important than the other factors involved but that action is pretty much like any other Rem clone (except for the short pin fall) but for some reason it isn't affected as much as the others. It doesn't have more mass to the pin nor much or any higher spring force so why it does as well as it does I don't know. It's a little bit of an anomaly in the sea of Rem clones. I haven't delved into one deeply but I do have one with me at the moment and I'm going to look further. As long as the firing pin has enough mass and velocity the fall shouldn't matter, right?
I don’t think it isI do not know if the pin on a tl3 is fluted, I'll have to check.
