The 22 creedmoor thread

Same set up as above. Had been shooting a lot of prairie dogs earlier in the day and went out at night to see if I could find anything eating the free meal I left behind. Saw this coyote and walked a few hundred yards to close to gap to 250.

62 gr ELDVT at 3650 from my 22” barrel. Fox was about 220 yards. My tripod slipped at the shot, so I didn’t see the impact in my thermal, but a hit was pretty apparent due to the “thwop” I could

There's nothing like that "thwop" in the dark to boost post shot confidence.

Nice shooting.

Finally got everything assembled for my first 22 Creed. Anxious to get out and see how it does.

Had a chance to shoot it this morning. I wanted to try the factory 80eldx load before I fooled with hand loading. The accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. 2MOA 10 shot groups is about the best I could get. So I guess it’s time to go ahead and get a hand load worked up. The clock is ticking on having this rifle ready to go to Wyoming antelope and mule deer hunting the end of the month.

I have a set of reloading dies and 100pcs of Peterson LRP brass on the way. I have a couple hundred 77TMKs and a couple hundred 88ELDMs on my bench as well as a bunch of H4350 and H4831SC. For the sake of time, does anybody have any suggestions on where I should start? I’d be happy using either of those bullets. I don't expect to shoot at game past 4-450 yards this fall.

For reference; it’s a 16.5” Preferred barrel, 1:7.5 twist and .120”FB.

Any load suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone run QL on their loads? I'm trialing Gordon's Reloading Tool and my pressures seem way off for the velocity I'm getting with a Garmin chrono. I'm sure I have something an input not right, but with an 85.5 Berger and staball 6.5 GRT is saying I have over 77K pressure at 3,036fps, which doesn't feel right. Gun shoots great, no heavy lift, no primer pressure indication. GRT is off on my 4350 loads as well, not just a little, but like 500 fps. I do have a 16.5" barrel, that would cause the program to go wonky, would it?

Was just curious what QL would say.
I found velocity the best the best predictor of pressure in GRT. I adjust case capacity until velocity matches. Then use that to assess pressure. This matches very close to hornady data assuming 30fps loss per inch. Mines 17.5". I cant remember where I pressured out according to GRT but I've not found that 22 creed shows pressure until your hot as balls atleast with alpha sap brass. With rl26 I had not pressure signs except velocity up to 3350fps with an 88 eld. That's hot as balls and I reduced load way back. Im now around 65kpsi with a 95smk @2950.

I have the exact barrel specs. I’m running alpha brass, cci 450, 40gr h4831, 77s, BTO 2.146, and 2933mv. Seems to be grouping good for me. I would start with a little less of powder but I’m not seeing pressure with that load.
