85.5 Bergers shoot great for me with 40.5g of SB6.5. I'm headed out tomorrow to try some 77TMK's and 80ELDX's with SB.

I didn't have great speeds/accuracy with Staball 6.5. N560 has been a great powder for me with 80 ELDMs and a 17" barrel.

What speeds are you getting with N560?

I'm getting 3125 at 44gr N560 (Hornady book max) out of my 17" barrel with no pressure signs.

The gun shoots the factory hornady ammo at 2950.

Sorry, I should have included that info, barrel length is 16.5", PVA barrel, 1:7 Twist, shot with a can. ADG brass, COAL=2.7".

Shot the head of a 1,536 lb bull with a 69 ELDVT at 50 yards. He dropped in place like struck by lightning, zero leg kicking which is very uncommon in what I’ve seen. Brain was likely mush. Small entrance no exit. His throat was then slit.

It’s “the way” it’s done in general, yes.

That made me do a double take for a moment because we were getting 3050 fps with 85.5 Bergers out of our 22 Dasher. But thats with a 26" barrel, and then I read your post about the 16" Creed barrel.

I shot another 10 yesterday and averaged 3,040. No apparent pressure signs and they shot their normal <1" group.

What's a good bushing size to start with? Alpha brass and 80 grain eldm?
Called PVA yesterday to add a rush to my barrel order. Trying to get dies and brass ordered up.

Haven't decided yet. Probably Redding Type S match set. Or a Redding Type S sizer with a basic seater. I don't monkey with seating depths enough for a micrometer.

I have the RCBS Matchmaster dies, once my seating depth is set, I don't mess with it either. I love the bullet holder (sleeve) in those dies for seating the longer ELDM type bullets.
