This. Not enough recoil to need a brake.I’d go bare muzzle if I can’t run suppressed. 22cm doesn’t have much recoil to begin with and I’m personally over obnoxious brakes.
Barrel length? Finally had a chance to get the thermal on the 22 Creed and zero it. Hoping to find some coyotes now that calving season is full swing at our ranch.
62 ELDVT shot very well this summer:

How’s pelt damage been with the 88s for you?Went out last night for a few hours. Unfortunately, the coyotes didn't want to cooperate. Only heard a single howl way out there. Plenty of jack rabbits out an about though, so figured I'd see what the 62 ELDVT would do. I'd say I was a little underwhelmed by the terminal performance. Even at relatively close distance (100 yards or so), exits wounds were no where near that of the 80 or 88 gr ELDMs. The 88's usually just vaporize them. I should have snagged some photos of the rabbits last night, just didn't think to at the time.
A positive note - this might not be a terrible projectile to use if you're worried about pelt damage. I got lucky and center punched this raccoon at 395 yards. Didn't care to walk out in the dark, so grabbed him this morning. Just a little blood from the exit side.
Here he was climbing down the tree:

I'll finish up these rounds and may move on to trying the 69 gr TMK - I would think I could get them up to about 3550 or so.

I've only shot 1 coyote with the 88 and pelt damage was minimal (shot was 600 yards though, so closer could be a different story). I've shot a couple of foxes with them and they are too explosive if you're wanting to keep pelts. I think foxes are pretty thin skinned regardless - I shot one with a 6 ARC and 108s going pretty slow and it still left a huge hole.
Likely has to do with a 20 shot string.Have you guys had any 80 grain ELDX blow up in mid-flight? I was shooting yesterday at 100-yards and had one blow up (Splattered the Shoot n see target). Leading up to this shot I had 4-5 shots that started to lose accuracy (approximately 2-3" off of point of aim low left). This happened after approximately a 20-shot string and 10-15 seconds between shots.
I left the barrel cool down while shooting other guns for a couple hours and grabbed another box of ammo from the same factory LOT# and it was back to shooting sub-MOA at my original zero. I'm not sure what could've caused this because the gun has been a sub-MOA gun from day one.
Barrel is a 20" 8 twist Bartlein shooting factory Hornady ammo at 3180 FPS on a T3X action with around 250-rounds through it.
Any ideas of what went on here?
Thanks, I was hoping it was something as simple as this.Likely has to do with a 20 shot string.
Rpm and heat are what seem to make bullets pop.
