That’s why I’m running the 80gr eldm pretty high bc for the weight that helps reduce wind drift. I shoot out to 1300yards with them. 400yds and in though the 69gr tmk makes sense especially with pdogs.

Had the chance to try out the Berger’s 77 OTM Tactical loaded by Copper Creek Ammo on a WT Doe. Shot was 170 yards and hit center shoulder. She ran maybe 15 yards and left a good blood trail. Now to try them on some hogs. Does anyone else hunt with this bullet and what terminal results you getting?

Bumping this back up. Finally got my rechambered 22-250 tikka barrel torqued on Peterson brass 88 grain eldm cci 200 primers and reloader 23 ran up to 2950 out of an 18” barrel loaded 15 to see what it’ll do at 100

Don't figure you'll get too much more. 22 inch Tikka an 75 eldm with RL23 3300 was it. Only had bout 40 or so down barrel then. Alpha SRP. Bolt got snug so I didn't push it anymore. Switched to Varget.

I think your right the case is pretty full but I was surprised I was thinking I had wishful thinking hoping to hit 3000. I actually backed the load down 1/2 grain and shot 10 rounds at an inch. Went inside and loaded 50 to bang away with

I haven't tried it but I heard Hornady had more room cause of brass was a touch thinner. But idk if it's worth trying or not. I do know every powder I tested I had Peterson large rifle brass an did same grains an got about 20 fps more. But small rifle was more available so that's why I went that route an use cci 450s. I hated not using the rl l23 I was kinda committed to it cause I found several pounds. Hopefully use it in 7 prc or something. Staball Match did pretty good to. 3000 would be good for 18 inch an being safe. That'll be my next project 18 inch barrel an a regular daytime rifle

I'm finally finding what my 22 creed likes. This PBB barrel will not shot 88s. Kinda a bummer since they were the biggest reason I chose the 22 creed. Oh well, the 80 eldms look like they will shoot just fine and they were my second choice. This group is 11 shots with 2 starting at 39.5 of H4350 and then 3 each in half grain increments to 41. 41 looked like it might be right on the edge of pressure so I'll load up 20 at 40.5 and see what happens.Ballistic-X-Export-2024-02-24 17_34_15.393990.png

I’m glad this barrel likes the 23 I have quite a bit stocked up when I couldn’t find 215s for my 300. I almost wish I went with the srp brass I’ve been minutes late getting in on a few orders for more non mag primers

I don't blame ya I got 2lbs of RL26 I keep staring at that I don't wanna use lol. I figured I would shoot this gun more than the rest since it'll be used year round so was another reason I went with srp. Cabelas has been my best luck with primers. Sucks to pay hazmat but shipping is free an still cheaper than local. Gotta check every day. With 18 inch barrel LRP was probably best bet for velocity.

Mine is also a PBB and the 88s shoot well with H1000. Might be worth a try for you. 80s shot well with H4831sc.

Yeah I had that happen once before. You wouldn't believe this but they had winchester large rifle magnums the other day an limit. I ordered two should of just ordered whatever it'd let me lol but didn't wanna be that greedy. I still didn't believe it till the showed up an only $94 a box 112 with hazmat.

Thats surprising!! I’m almost ready to bite the bullet and pay the gunbroker prices they aren’t as bad as they have been in the past granted it’s still double but hard to go bang with out them

I’m running an 18” rechambered tikka barrel also. Peterson does have less capacity.

With Hornady brass, 80gr eldms and 43.5gr of h1000 I can get 4 firings out of it at 3070fps

With peterson lrp, 80gr eldms and 42.5gr of h1000 I can get 2 firings out of it at 3040fps

With Alpha srp, 80gr eldms and 43.5gr of h1000 I can get 3 firings out of it at 3050fps

Hornady factory 80gr eldm ammo runs at 3115fps

That’s how many firings you’re getting out of the brass?

Yes, after that it seems cases are to work hardened to resize again but need to get some measurements.

I suspect I might have a sizing die issue but will have to get some measurements tomorrow to see for sure. I have another die to try as well.
