I’m sure it’s been asked but is anyone shooting the 80 grain Bergers with H4350 out of an 18 inch barrel? What loads are you using? I just got a new 22 creed and looking for a little info.

Thanks

I havent had a chance to shoot and chrono my loads yet - was planning on last weekend and ended up not getting out - But I am shooting a 19" tikka barrel with 80 grain eld x and H4350. Hoping to shoot and get some initial velocities this weekend.

I was able to get out and try a couple loads this weekend . With h4350 @ 40 grains I averaged 2992 with the first 5 shots out of the barrel. I’m hoping I can get a little more speed out of it as the barrel breaks in.

Should be able to do 41 gr with 4350 idk what your brass or length is. 80gr eldms you can get 42gr. I'm getting 3514 with 39.4gr of varget with 75 eldm. 22 inch barrel. From what I've seen in my guns about 20-30 fps per inch so you should be able to get 3200 or 3300 I'd think with right combo

I have a friend running that same combo an I think he settled on 41.7 for accuracy with 75s. Varget is worth a look if you have any. I tried everything but H1000 an Retumbo. STABALL Match shot very close to varget with touch less powder. Wasn't much info I could find. My next one will be 18 inches for in the woods. I'm running the Alpha with srp because easier to find cci 450 an 2.630 oal

Thanks for the info I have some h1000 I guess if I don’t get the 4350 where I want it I’ll have to switch.

I think with heavier bullets some have better success with H1000 but I think 4350 will get you there. I think my buddy averages around 3440 or with his I know it's over 3400 but that's 22 inch barrel. From what I've seen so far on shortening my 7mm-08 don't lose quite as much fps as you'd think

I use h-1000 with 80gr eld-ms but primal rights load data shows to be 41.8gr h4350 with 80gr bergers, alpha ocd brass, cci 200, coal 2.605” for 3450fps out af a 26” bbl

On my 7mm-08 which I didn't not chronograph out of a 24 inch barrel to begin with. But the factory hornady ammo was suppose to 2950 which I doubt. I got 2756 out of a 16.5 inch gun so average of 25fps per inch if the ammo was moving that fast. I'd say you'll be 3200 for sure hopefully 3300 mark

FYI Wilson is now making 22 creed in-line seaters. If anyone is interested in a Whidden in-line seater I have one to get rid of.

If you guys are stuffing varget in these cases with heavy bullets you’re asking for trouble!

Thanks for the reply I’m going to try some 4350 loads this week and if that doesn’t work I’ll try h1000

Going to give the 95gr SMK’s a try when the bbl comes in. I have 1600 of them and ordered a Bartlein gain twist yesterday. .219 5R 1-7.5 to 1-6.8”. Ordered a 27” 2b blank but will probably cut it to 18-20” only planning on running them 2800-2900 to keep the rpm’s down. They said late summer most likely but could be up to a year. Going to continue running the 80gr eldms until then and I have some 69gr TMKs I need to find a load for soon.

Oh yeah, but after the throat burning up pretty quickly I am wondering about running 75 or heavier. I have really liked how the tmk shoots and hits dogs, but for a day bullet where distance could bee longer than night i may go with 75's maybe 80's, i have 1k of the 75 eldm and a box of 88eldm. I also have some of the 62 eld vt's, but would like to give them another chance once i have an 8 twist.

Been running 18" 1:9
