60 degrees plus for about a week here in Santa Fe, what little snow on the mountain is melting off right now. I think the total for the state is at 15%.

Hopefully February dumps some snow, seems the last couple years we have had good snow in Feb.

It’s been different in NW MT, mountains are getting average but the valleys are not getting much. January overall we had little snow, actually declined a bit. Hoping February is the month we get pounded.

One month later, our statewide snowpack is improving, even though some areas have gone backwards a bit.

After today, Gallatin and Upper Yellowstone should go way up again!

Local news media prediction "The Yellowstone region received more snow over the last few days, children built snow men...er snow "non binary people"...blah blah. However, much of the season remains, there could be a big melt off, then zero precipitation for months, actually years, and everyone will die a slow death. But, yeah, the recent snow was kind of nice"

I like this snow in the treasure valley, but I’d like it better if it wasn’t so wet…my back hurts…

Indeed. I'm in the Gallatin. It will be interesting to see in the morning what the various stations show for percentages. We got a solid 12 hours of snowfall at our house - it was a real old-time Montana storm.

Montana has been getting a nice dose of snow over the last week or so. Hoping it keeps up. Xc skiing makes winter much more fun.

A snorkel was needed in a few places I went to this week. It’s nice to see that a few more non profit ski hills are finally able to fire up the rope tows and T bars this weekend!

Need any avalanche control volunteers? I want to blow banner pass up. 🤣
You and me both. We have our first day of decent weather today so the helo will be going up and do some control work and we we'll see what we are facing. I think its going to be significant......65 inches in a week with 5 inches of water on top of a very weak snowpack.

Yeah, we got hammered! Four or more inches in some areas. Boise schools all closed. Bro and I went up to the Gardena area to look at property and were surprised at the amount of snow there.

Good heavens, you all got mashed. I bet Banks to Lowman is slammed also. Bro and I were up there before this major storm hit and that steep rocky area close to Lowman looked really dicey. Saw a small boulder in the middle of the westbound lane that looked like a chunk of snow. Got out to try and move it, about 100 lbs, along came a snowplow and I waved him down - he golfed it right off the road with his blade. Impressive!
