Eh, stick aint that bad. Goofball for sure. But is helpful and informative in his own way sometimes. As a whole its just a bunch of unhelpful grumps. I've been a member for a while, but rarely go there. Sell things on the classifieds from time to time.

I read it to see what is going on. Sometimes they are ahead of things. However , some of them are just mean and mad. That usually when I move on.

Occasionally I read hunttalk but I left them because they are too political, liberal, and anti all of the resource industries. We have enough democrat loonies without adding liberal hunters that hate ranchers, loggers and miners.

My tolerance for idiots is growing pretty thin. The longer I visit that place the less I enjoy it.
Maybe 15% of the advice is helpful, same for the people posting.
There are way to many with a different agenda that include politics, just being a pita troll, or the group that prides themselves on seeing who can misspell the most words in every post they make. My suspicion is fewer and fewer of them actually even hunt or shoot anymore. Many go there just to brag about what they paid for something, how much is to much, or complain about their neighbor who has more than they do so obviously can not afford it.
The sad part is the owner just doesn't seem to care.
The really sad part is there is a wealth of good information over there but most posts are often destroyed by trolls or idiots who have no knowledge of the subject derailing the topic.

I just don't understand 24HCF and how a member asks a question and within a couple of days the thread is 10 pages long but no one has answered the original question. Just 10 pages of repeat pictures, screenshots, and name-calling that aren't relevant to the OP's original intent.

There's more to it than that. Problem with HT is there is a lot of allowance for liberal post and anything that slams the right. Not very much tolerance at all the other way. HT is obviously intolerant of conservatives. Either leave ALL political post out or allow both sides to express their opinions. That's one of the main reasons I have lost interest over there and spend more time here.

It's true. I belong to a handful of forums - including the fire.
Great info and learnings on all of them, some just need more sifting.

I was on there recently after not being on for a long time. There's a noticeably larger contingent of crotchety old farts than there used to be.

I'm on another site regularly that I'll leave nameless that's been going the same direction. It's not a forum that tolerates personal attacks and all that so it hasn't devolved into foolishness but the GET-OFF-MY-LAWN crowd is gaining momentum
