Thank you Form I’m now a mk12 believer

Could care less about clones. I wanted an SPR that shoots as well as my bolt guns and didn’t want to make it anymore complicated than that. The PRI does that in spades.
Yes of course it's a very capable platform. I didn't say it wasn't, however my point was it isn't anything special. A lot of advancement has taken place in the AR platform in the last 20 years in the way of accurate barrels and quality hardware, and the MK12 doesn't do anything unique except look cool.

School me on what proven platform is out there that is more advanced, more accurate, and better quality.

I'd love to hear your usage and application as well.

What AR platform that is field reliable in all conditions, has less sight movement during recoil, has less or no POI shift with pressure or torque on the forend, has no iron sight POI shift on different rests/holds, has less laser POI shift, and holds zero better with impacts- especially with suppresser attached?

Out of curiosity form does the attributes of the mk12 also apply fairly equally to the 15.1 nsw recce for something a little shorter and possibly lighter?

It is a little frustrating that the barrel profile is so heavy, but I imagine thats a big reason there so little POI shift from that heavy ass suppressor.

White oak will flute their SPR barrels between the nut and gas block and I hate myself for not chosing that option on mine. The mod-H-ish build I've got going right now is damned heavy even without the can.

No. The NSW recce (multiple versions) are really just normal AR’s as we know them now. Even the MK12 Mod1 (which I love), isn’t “less” than the Mod0 in performance.

Ridgeline LPR?

Genuinely curious, which attribute have you seen that it falls behind the mk12 on?

Of those I listed-

It is a 16” barrel with an intermediate gas system= more sight movement during recoil.

Does not use the OPS Inc brake and collar system= POI shifts due to impacts on suppressor are more possible.

Does not have continuous top rail locking receiver and forend together = lasers or other rail mounted aiming devices have more POI shift with torque.

Backup sight isn’t on the barrel= handguard torque moves POI.

Aluminum forend= much colder in winter to hold and carry.

Form,

Any luck getting Unknown to make a suppressor for the mk12 mount? Maybe lighter than the two existing options?

How does LMT mono uppers compare? Reliability, poi shift with different pressures, holding zero from impacts?

As a general question about the PRI Mark 12 mod 0 gen 2, is the 1/7 or 1/8 twist preferable, or is there any real difference? I’d be shooting the 77 TMK primarily. Thank you

They are excellent in all of that. Probably the best hard use, modern AR platform on the market. They and the PRI handguard with top rail are probably the two most flex resistant options on the market. As a precision platform, the MK12 still bests the LMT. But, the LMT mono rail is an excellent platform, when combined with a rifle length gas 18” barrel, and Ops Inc suppressor system- they good.
