Thank you Form I’m now a mk12 believer

This is not helping my desire to have a precision 6arc upper for hunting to go with my 18" 5.56 upper.

A bit rich for me when fulfilling a want.

Luckily you told me in another thread to focus on the bolt guns for hunting. ;)

Bump

I have a white oak 16" SPR upper that I am getting ready to order a can for. The barrel is basically a mod H profile. I'm hung up on what to get - AEM5 or OCM5 or something else like an AB A10. It's strictly a hunting rifle, mostly a box stand rifle for my wife and kids. Shoots great already, just need to get the noise down.

Is there any functional advantage to either the AEM5 or OCM5? Research indicates they both sound really good, OCM5 is lighter, AEM5 is the OG. Old design, something better out there these days? From an engineering perspective I really like how the AE design centers on a taper aft of the muzzle, it seems like that would have a real advantage in stiffening up the whole system.
I am also searching for the best option for my PRI Mark 12. I was looking at the possibility of buying the B&T Mark 12 reflex hub attachment, and pairing it to whatever is the quietest can out there. Everything is developing so quickly with cans lately, that I wonder if the B&T option would make it so upgrading along the way is easier. I am not sure though. @Formidilosus , have you ever used one of these adapters on a Mark 12?

Beauty but man that’s spendy… I know it’s a bit off topic, but what’s the verdict on the Geissele GFR 6mm ARC? The Ally guys were talking about some of the changes Geissele pursued to improve rail/receiver interface, stiffness, etc, and seemingly believe it was a step forward in precision gas guns.. Reviews are good and one could buy a whole rifle for the cost of this upper.. any thoughts Form on viability of the GFR platform? They are also rolling out 22 ARC now for the GFR.

Those things are built- not assembled. The man that builds them does it better and unlike anyone I have seen. If I absolutely, positively needed to have a semi that shot without fail and ran without issue- it’s one from him.

The GFR is good. They are a step forward in large scale reliability of the ARC cartridges.

Good to hear, thank you Form.

I have not used the B&T adapter. I have used another brand adapter however. It works fine.

One of the, maybe the quietest can on the market for precision semi’s, and the best sounding is the AE 12th model or OCM5. It is made for the MK12 and works optimally with the gun.
