Texas Deer Season

First saw this deer back in 2018 season and then not again until this 2021. Got him opening morning rifle season. St. Jo, Montague county.

Going to be near George West, Tx in mid Jan. Last weekend of season and a month past peak rut, but sounds like there still may be some chasing. 600 acres free range.

Rut seems to be going still but I would say about 80 percent of the bucks are no longer in rut

I was able to take this buck on Sunday afternoon on the opening weekend of archery season in Gillespie County on my low fence ranch.
Taken with an Elite Impulse 31 bow at 16 yards
I spend much of the year and season taking pictures of wildlife. I took this pic of the buck about 2 weeks before the season. I had trail cam pics of him still in velvet till 2 days before the season opened.
