Last falls success after a 14 day sheep hunt covering almost 60 miles and 6 peaks ascended! Caribou was a backup plan after we failed to find a full curl ram! That was one heavy pack!
My 2011 High Country Mule Deer. 11 Days of work hunting this buck and just waiting for him to make that one mistake and open the door for me. I know I'm not eligible but I wanted to share. This was taken with a little canon point and shoot and has not been touched or edited in any way. With the setting sun this is just how things turned out.
Here's mine. I wasn't expecting to have to haul anything and we only had to haul him 3/4 of a mile so I didn't strap him in like he would have been if I were packing him a long way.
desertstalker,
This is what has worked for me: In Photobucket try hovering your cursor over the image you want - a menu of options will appear below. Click on the right side of "IMG code" where the link shows. Just clicking once should copy the image (it should show a message in the window "copied". Then go back to Rokslide and paste in your message in your post. Should show up in the thread as an image like this:
After harvesting this bull at sunset, I called the boys and they rounded up the troops. I caped, quartered and fought off the coyotes who were within yards howling in the shrubs. Ain't the fanciest backpacks but you use what you have when you need to get the job done.
First elk season ever for this Iowa boy. Shot this spike on the last day and last hour of archery season as it was starting to snow. It was the first time I had gone out without my hunting partner and had called in this spike 2 weeks prior. Public ground, general unit near Laramie Wyoming. Only took 25+ miles to see my first elk. Elk are BIG compared to the whitetails I'm used to, and this was just a spike.
