Tent stove in the rain?

Haven’t been able to find an answer from google or searching forums. How are people keeping rain out of their stoves? Currently setup in a heavy rain. First time using my stove

Get the fire hot and you should be ok. Takes a toad strangler of a rain storm to put a lot of water down a 3 inch hole.

If you feel it's necessary, you can purchase a stove pipe cap, but like Legend said, it's gonna take a hell of a rain to cause you issues with a 3" pipe opening.

I've had more trouble with water running down the outside of the pipe than in.....but ive opened the door to mud before. That was the storm that I asked God if that was all he had.....and he delivered.

It actually was damn near entirely dry in the stove. Surprised me. But more than dry enough to get the fire going. It was my first weekend using a stove in a tent.

My Knico Alaskan came with a t-rain cap. It works well but I think the stoves breathes better without it.

Mount the stove pipe at an angle, preferably away from the prevailing wind and it decreases the amount of rain entering the stove

Old thread.. but I carry a small chunk of aluminum foil to cover it while I'm gone.. Just in case.
