How can I get rid of tennis elbow? 39 years old. It has been killing me for months now. I just hate to go to the Doctor about it.

I want to get back into the gym and lift, but there's no way with how painful my right elbow is.

I'd appreciate any information

I don’t have any cure, but it sucks. I toe the line on this most summers when I start shooting a lot.

I just back off a bit but keep the loading right at a 4/5 out of 10. As I understand it, tendons need some load to heal, so full rest isn’t the best approach, but you also can’t keep injuring it.

I think it can take months to heal. Maybe go see a physical therapist instead of a doctor, good luck.

I had partial tears in that tendon on my left arm last year. I had to make a decent amount of adjustments to my training and did therapy for a few months. I also wore a brace and it ended up healing.

My sports medicine doc recommended surgery but the surgeon wouldn’t touch it. He said it’s not a very successful surgery and insisted more therapy and rest. Long road but it hasn’t bothered me at all in almost a year.

I'm in my 50's and spent the last 10 years dealing with it, the last few contemplating surgery. I got lucky and found the wolverine stack to be effective for me in about 2-3 weeks. I'm dosing once or twice a week now and feel 90% which is 1000% better.

It's an INCREDIBLY slow area to heal.

Good luck.

Back in the day I used to get really bad tendinitis in my forearm from playing a ton of basketball. My old timer coach recommended applying this ointment called “Eucalyptamint” which is actually made for arthritis. It is the one thing that actually worked… with that being said, I haven’t been able to find it online in years. However, if you look it up and find a product with similar ingredients, that may do the trick. Good luck!

I had the same thing last year and had surgery at the end of the year. 8 weeks recovery and then could start exercising. After 12 weeks i could shoot my bow. I just feel a little tightness now and 100% recoverd.

Unfortunately you have to stop doing any lifting motions that cause pain immediately, until the issue is resolved.

Then you need to do wrist flexes up and down with resistance (you can simply apply downward pressure with the oppositehave), 3x10, both arms, every day. Also get a small sledge, 3-4lbs, and gripping it at arms length, rotate your arm, hand up, hand down, 3x10, both sides, every day. Start choked way up, and then grip further down the handle as you get stronger.

It will take 3 or more months. If you don't stop doing movements that aggravate it now, nothing will help you. The sooner you accept this the better.

I've heard surgery will not fix it. I was in similar shape a few months ago. I had the bands for tennis elbow and they would help some. I got a Tens machine and that alleviated it some, The thing that really helped me and fixed it was a Kenalog shot. My wife (pharmacist) gave me one, I'm not sure if you can get them at your pharmacy or if a Dr has to give it to you
