For any of you guys that live near the TN herd, have experience with them, or have hunted them yourself; I have some general questions, if you wouldn't mind shooting me a PM. Thanks in advance.

I knew this was a tough permit to draw, but didn’t realize how tough until I checked this morning. 7 archery permits for a one week season, 7 youth permits for a one week season, and 7 permits for any weapon in a one week season. Whoa. Hope you bought lottery tickets as well.

Which specific “unit” did you draw. I hunt on some of those areas but not others.

Congrats. I used to apply for that when I was a TN resident as did every hunter I knew. I never even knew anyone who knew anyone who drew that tag. There are some huge elk there.

Appreciate it. My hunting partner actually drew it...luckiest SOB I know. I'll be there for the scouting and hopefully dragging. Ed Carter S.

Can tell you're not an elk hunter. You're not dragging one anywhere unless you have a mule or motorized vehicle. 700 lbs don't drag like a 140 lb whitetail. Watch videos of gutless method and quartering an elk. Good luck to your buddy.

Lol...I've been around a couple. You're correct that a mule will drag one just fine.
