I've got a 28 nosler built by borden, just cut the barrel down to 24' to 26" running tbac ultra 7. It's still long but a little better.

The Harvester is very lightweight so it's not bad at all. I zeroed with it on so couldn't tell you about POI shift.

Thanks for the info....how’s the overall length of the rifle with suppressor when hunting in semi thick areas?

This is the first season I have it for hunting and honestly I hunt pretty open terrain so it's not as much of an issue as areas with thick timber or swamps but if you get used to handling it with the can attached before hitting the woods it's pretty easy to get used to.

Tikka T3 30-06 cut down to 20" with Silencerco Omega 300 hybrid. Zeiss Conquest 3-9x on top with mountain tactical rail. Absolutely love this set up for a go anywhere, do anything rifle (out to 500).

I use a TBAC 338 Ultra suppressor on my 28" 300 Norma. Really comes in handy when you need to pole vault over a creek.

Just make sure you place the butt down for said pole vaulting, don't want to get debris in the can. Depending on the size of your sack, you may also want to have the rifle unloaded during these advanced maneuvers.

I’ve got a 30” 300 rum and 338 ultra that is used for similar creek crossing routines. Works great. Also doubles as an effective white water paddle or shallow water anchor.

Just hunted thick cover with a 23" barreled 6.5-284 and a UL7. For me it is too long. I'll go with either a 19" barreled 6.5x47 or an 18" barreled 30-06. For the OP, I'd find a Rem 700 in your choice of cartridges, whack it to 18" and move on. I can tolerate 24" of oal in cover but 29" was just too much. But it was tight cover. Thing is you pop out and have shot opportunities to 600. So there was a reason to attempt it. Both the short barreled rigs are good to 600 too.
