How are the triggers on the Howa minis? What options are there for stocks?

Not terrible if you modify it - I clipped a coil and a half off the spring and have it set right around 2 lbs. It isn’t a Triggertech Diamond by any means, but it’s good enough.

If you don’t like it, jard and timney make drop ins for it.

Trigger are very nice two stage with clean break. Cut a coil or a bit more to reduce pull weight.

Shaw had a good sale this weekend!
In the 6 ARC FB group they said Shaw was really good for the price.
Get the the barrel then slowly buy a BCG and magazines. Gas block and dies.

Anyone know of a 14-15" m lock arca rail?

anyone run a 6 arc on a gas gun ?

16” faxon barrel, I’m getting 2500 with factory 108’s and cleared 2700 with no pressure issues this weekend with hand loaded 95gr TMKs.

It’s just under 2moa10 shot group at mag length, and at book max load for the bullet and powder. I haven’t messed with tightening it up yet, but have windowed mags and will be messing with COAL and charge some to see if that tightens it up. The factory loads were around 1.5moa so I think I can land somewhere in the 1-1.5 range.

This gun/barrel is a 200yd deer gun - I’ll hunt with it as is. If I tighten groups dramatically I’ll start taking it to distance. It makes velocity to get me to 500. My guess is it’ll be a 300 and under gun for deer with my time and shooting limitations.

I have no doubt a sub moa 6ARC gas gun can be built with 16” barrel and have an effective range of 500 yards. I probably won’t be the shooter though haha!

Does that do everything include elk yet?
I just built the rifle this year and haven't had a shot on an elk yet but yes. It's what I will use for elk. Why wouldn't I? There are hundreds of elk kill reports in the 6mm thread and I have seen what it does to a mature mule deer buck. The ELD-M I am shooting out of it is absolutely devastating on game. Much more so than anything I can get to group well out of my 270.

I suppose I should have asked if you have used it for elk yet instead of it coming out like I was insinuating that I was doubting what it could do. I am slowly working on a gas gun in the ARC and have looked into a few bolt options to play around with. I also planned on using it for an all arounder, just curious if you had used it on an elk yet and was hoping for some pics/feedback. Keep us updated!

Oh gotcha. No sweat. Here are the couple of wound pics I have from this season. First is an exit on an Antelope at 325 yards. (I know not an elk but golf ball sized exits tend to kill stuff. LOL) Second is an entrance on a mature muley buck at 370 yards. Both factory 108 ELD-M. This rifle killed 7 animals this year. Including my wife and 10yo son's first big game animals. 100-370 yards. Super impressed with it.

Howa mini, sporter wt barrel. Didn’t have time to cut it down before season. Scythe TI. Stockys vg mini. Ended up bedding it. Bought the larger barrel channel and still had to open it up. But it worked out great. My daughter loves it. Her first year hunting with more than a 223.

Anyone notice that Bergers data is colder than Hornady data for the same bullet weight? Both gas gun data and same powders. Hornady is adding another grain over the Berger max data.
Plan to load 108 Berger elite hunters.

I’ve been running a 6 ARC gas gun for a few years. I run an 18” Proof steel barrel. It’s been a fantastic gun. Took some tinkering to get to cycle well. Adjustable gas block and a reduced buffer spring got it running really well now. Has been shooting really well suppressed. My 12 year old son has killed a whitetail buck and a mule deer buck with great results. It’s such a pleasant gun to shoot. Easy to observe your impacts and have very quick follow up shots. The 108 ELDMs are a nasty little bullet.

Berger data has been worthless for me in the past. Degree of lousiness depends on cartridge.

Got her finished up yesterday.
I'll upgrade from an lpvo next year. But for shooting dogs it'll work.
Got dies and brass coming.

Found a box of 75 gr vmax on my shelf so I'll probably use those up.

Is the 6 arc suppressed quieter than the 5.56/223? With the 16" 223 barrel suppressed I'd hate to shoot more than a shot without plugs
