Saw a TC Venture II rifle at Cabela's. It seemed impressive. The action and bolt look an awful lot like the Sauer 100/ Mauser M18 design which I know is highly regarded by many. I'm not sure how the Venture II is different than the first Venture - I think the trigger is new and cerakote is now standard, otherwise it looks pretty much the same.

If you've owned or used one, what are your thoughts on this rifle? Every now and then someone mentions having one and being impressed with its accuracy. I'd love to hear some more detailed thoughts on the Venture.

I have the original version in .270. It is definitely a tack driver. My only complaint is the bolt is not the smoothest but I am spoiled by my Tikka in that regard. For the money its a great rifle. My rifle likes good ole Corelokts and Federal Fusions.

My first thought when I first saw the Sauer 100 was that they'd copied the Venture and classed it up a little. I'm not knowledgeable enough about either model to know if the similarity is more than superficial.

Don't know about the venture 2 but for a budget rifle the 1 that I shot in 7mm-08 seem to be pretty good quality and very accurate with "cheap" factory ammo.
