TC Venture, worth upgrading?

So I have a weathershield TC venture in 308win that shoots pretty good with nosler 165gr accubonds....

Would it be foolish to contact McMillan to do a custom inlet hunters edge stock? Looking past the fact I just don't like the factory stock, its also almost 9lbs with scope and mounts. I would be happy with 7-7.5lbs.

Anyone ever had a custom inlet stock done? Is the price worth the upgrade?

I have a Venture in 30/06. It shoots the 168 TTSX into 1/2 inch groups. I am not crazy about the stock either, but I don't want to touch anything as long as it shoots as well as it does.
