I am set for a CO muzzleloader hunt this fall. I already have a TC Omega at my disposal and am hoping to use that. I understand all the QLR issues but I would like to give this gun a try at the range before looking into other options. I have Fury Universal fits and MMP sub bases on order and have two questions:

1. Should I also look at getting my hands on another conical bullet type (I was looking at the No Excuses) or if the gun does not shoot well with the sub base am I SOL anyways?

2. Is there any reason to try add in a wool wad between the powder and the sub base to help as well?

Thanks in advance

Cool. The Omega is one of the (maybe the) finest modern muzzys ever designed.

Did I miss it? What species are you hunting?

As for the QLA, I’d shoot it with your chosen bullet and see before worrying about the QLA. Very easy to have it cut off and recrowned too if you need to.

I’d say no reason to use a wool wad with a sub-base.

My bad forgot to add it will be for elk.

And thanks for the feedback!
