Does anyone have experience with these two shelters? Picture in use? Thoughts? 250 is more than likely my budget for a new shelter after mine finally died!

Your not asking about this tent but check out Lightheart tents. Pretty packable and compact.

I'd go for option three. The detail shots on the Bearpaw site reveal pretty scary construction, and the one I saw in person this summer was very poorly put together. Tarptent makes good stuff, but the Squall is a reknowned condensation machine when the door is closed.

If you want a proper tent, the Sierra Designs Flashlight is a good option right at your budget. If not, there are numerous mids and bug net combos which would serve you well.

I have a Virga 2 which looks to be an older version of the squall and like it, it's really long and put together well with enough room to sit up in the door
