Tarp set up

After getting caught in a storm the other day I’m going to pick up a tarp for my day hunt setup. Looking at the Seek Outside Gunnison Tarp.

I haven’t used a tarp much so I was looking for some examples of how you’ve used your tarp in the past ie rigging it up, knots, stakes? etc

There are a bunch of videos on tarp set up. There are a ton of ways depending on what you want to do. Check out bear paw wilderness designs too. He has some nice features on his tarps.

A flat tarp will be the most versatile as it is able to be pitched in numerous ways. Oware and Borah Gear make some nice economical silnylon tarps.
Personally I would steer clear of BearPaw Wilderness Designs as there have been numerous complaints over the past few years. Here is a link from BPL regarding the company:

A few msr groundhog stakes is my go to. I use the small ones but mix in a couple bigger ones. Some reflective cord from glowire and a few tautline hitches.

I think the dst is a pretty sweet sounding tarp.

This is how I run my 6x9 but Jimmy closed shop.
So far its worked out pretty well and pitches quick.

SO DST tarp pitches

Does anyone run one of these? I'm thinking about using one for archery elk this year in Montana. Seems to fit the bill for light solo shelter and I can run a cimmaron when with 2 people. I'm only 5'8" so shelters are easy for me length wise. Looking at the DST instead of a silvertip for solo...
