The more and more I see people using theses I think I want to try one. I have a couple questions for the guys using them.

How do you not get wet? I understand the bivy bag. Does the tarp go tight to the ground? Other than weight (which is always good to cut)what else do you gain?

you can pitch in a variety of terrain and use a variety of pitches. option to use a stove. dont have to worry about taking boots off. great if you camp with a dog.
as far getting wet, think of a car in the rain and when you move it the big dry spot on the driveway..

They can be pitched tight to the ground yes. As far as not getting wet, its no different than any other roof over your head. It took a bit of convincing myself to buy one too but I am sure glad I did. I would say the next biggest gains other than weight, is space and durability in the wind.
