Tall, supportive, early-season boot suggestions?

I have been running uninsulated Kenetrek Mountain Extremes for the last five years. They are great, because I need the tall ankle support they provide, but they are super hot in the early season. I tried Crispi Idahos last year thinking the mesh would breathe better than the full leather Kenetreks, but the plastic exoskeleton pinched the top of the my toes/foot when I walked. Does anyone have any suggestions for a tall boot with good ankle support, that is more breathable?

I just ordered a pair of Crispi Briksdal MTN to try out, they are fully synthetic if you’re ok with that but supposed to breath very well while being waterproof.
Also got a wild hair and was checking out some of Alfa’s (Norway) offerings that are made out of their AlfaAir material, they’re tempting to try (look very high quality) but even more expensive that the usual Crispi, Lowa, etc.
