Curious if any tall guys have some real world personal input. I’m 6’6” and my current tent has plenty of room but at 4.5lbs it’s just too much weight and don’t need that much space. I’ve researched quite a few but more often than not the length dimension is not a real world fit dimension on websites.

Durston xmid? Tarptent? Zack’s? Any others that work for you guys?

Only thing is must have some sort of insert.. I dont really want to sleep with scorpions, tarantulas and other desert critters.

Thanks!

6'7" here...I like the looks of the Durston although I haven't used one. I have a custom floorless bearpaw tarp that I've been happy with. I don't have to worry about creepy crawly critters all that much here in the Rockies though.

Trying to fit into just about anything is harder for us tall folk....

What’s your custom bear paw tarp look like?

Im 6'1" 250 lbs. I can sleep corner to corner in my xdome 2 without anything touching and a few inches to spare for sure. Plenty of room to sit up or kneel. Just a bit over 3lbs if I recall.

6’6” here and I run kifaru tut with no problem for when hunting with ppl or need a stove. I run the mountain smith lt when going solo.

I’m 6’5”. Tried the seek outside silex but always ended up rubbing the foot box of my bag on the tent walls and getting it wet.

I have and use the cimarron without issue. I also have the duration xmid 1p and fit with zero issues. That’s been my go to for earlier seasons and the cimarron for mid/ later hunts.

Cimmaron here, just got a TarpTent StratoSpire Li. May regret the dyneema for noise but the floor plan seems good and it is super light
