For a fully enclosed, forward opening harness, the Marsupial seems to be top notch. The quality and workmanship look super and the modularity is tough to beat.I really like my Marsupial gear. They are top notch quality and SUPER modular, which is awesome because you can build a system that works for you.
1) Super comfortable straps (that as someone above mentioned can be bought seperately)
2) Modular system that works with all their straps.
3) They are made here in Phoenix and are super responsive. Owner is active on social media and they have EXCELLENT customer service
- You can actually buy a bino harness and then buy just a standalone chest rig for fishing, hunting, (stuff you mentioned in the OP) and it all perfectly works together
- They sell tech pouches, gadget pouches rangefinder pouches (multiple sizes) that integrate perfectly into it
- bottom of their packs have molle web so you can add on bow hangers, bear spray holder, or ( as in my setup) a sidearm holster that fits my glock 20 perfectly.
Anyway, I highly recommend them. In all fairness, I've never owned a FHF bino harness but I've owned others which led me to look for a better solution. Marsupial was that solution and at the time I didn't even know they were local -they just had the gear that fit my needs the best.
Good Luck,
Reef
I have used the same setup since they came out. I have 3 of those harnesses and have bought them for my son and SIL:. My first one for my swaros finally wore out this year in Montana, so I bought a KUIU Pro to see how it works. I like the fact that there are no latches or magnets , you flip the top forward and tuck it and you can pull your binos out and then drop them back in. If the weather gets bad I just zip up my coat as my harness is under my coat all the time. I will see how it works this winter. I still like the simplicity of the S4 though, and for the way I carry my binos like the protection they provide.I use the S4 Gear harness and love it. I'm on year 7 or 8 with the same harness and have had zero issues with it. I like it because it is simple and very easy to operate with one hand. It does a decent job of protecting my binos but it isn't perfect in that regard. I tried the fully enclosed pouch style from 2 different manufacturers and hated them.
True datLOL!!! That's exactly what I say about the other harnesses on the market! I tuck the lid behind my binos on my FHF and it works great, in fact it is one of THE reasons I use it. The other reason is that FHF is so small and compact, and of course it is comfortable, but they are pretty much all comfy.
I guess the take home is that you gotta try stuff yourself, one man's junk is another's treasure!
