Those of you who have used both XBR and TAC in a powder thrower, how close is XBR? It's my favorite thing about TAC. I don't use a progressive press, but I LOVE being able to throw charges, weigh maybe 1 in 10, and have confidence I'm at 24.0-24.1 for 97% of my practice ammo. Can you do that with XBR? I've read in a few different places that people say it's "almost" as good as TAC.

If I have to go back to weighing and maybe trickling in order to switch to XBR it's not worth it to me.

TAC might throw to a little tighter weight spreads but I still seem to get better precision and SDs with thrown xbr even with more variance in charge weight. That's just in one rifle though.

I have to say I agree. Thrown charges of TAC are nearly always dead on and shoot good. XBR doesn’t throw as consistently, but speeds and group sizes seem to be just as consistent.

I use both. Tac meters like sand. Very tiny and it takes a lot to over throw, thus not many over throws. 8208xbr is a slightly smaller version of Varget. Meter great in my setup and gives me single digit SD's and ES.

I have used both and have had no issue running 8208. I throw 10 charges and sum them to get the average throw amount. If that's not what I want for weight, I will adjust and throw another 10. I would say 8208 takes about as many cycles to get the right amount as any other powder I have tried to throw.
