Swollen legs and feet

Anyone ever had amoxicillin cause swelling/water retention in their legs and feet?

I had strep throat and was put on 875 mg of amoxicillin twice daily 9 days ago, starting at about day 5 my legs ballooned up. They return to normal quickly when elevated, but feel like lead when swollen! Supposed to be heading to chase elk in 8 days. . .

Probably gonna hit up the Oncall doctor tomorrow for an opinion but was curious if anyone else had experienced this? No other real indicators, worked out today and lungs, heart, head were all fine just legs felt dead and have swelling.

It's a rare side effect. I would call the doc u went too and get them to switch you to a different abx.

Nope but I'd take a little swelling over strep any day.

Thanks everyone, went in today and they think it is a combination of rare reaction to amoxicillin and my slow heart rate. Was only ticking at 44 BPM which is slightly lower than my normal range or 48-52bpm.

Ran all the tests to make sure my heart was fine and pulled me off the amoxicillin as I only had 1 day left on it.

Get them feet and legs elevated when your sitting down. Before I gave up poisoning myself with food that contained a lot of salt and preservatives I had a leg swelling issue. It always helped if I could get my feet higher or at least as high as my chest. It might help get whatever fluid moved out of your feet and legs quicker. Especially since it seems you solved the underlying issue.
