I have a CVA optima NW. Currently i have it dialed in to shoot 348 grain power belts with 100 grains of triple seven (2 pellets)

I now know that Washington allows 209 primers and i have purchased the breech plug for the 209 primers.

When i use this new breech plug, will i have to re-sight the gun in, or can i expect it to shoot the same as it does with my current breech plug using musket caps for primers. Basically i want the increased reliablitity of the 209's but i dont have time to re- sight in the gun before the season if it will be hittin different. I have alot of confidence built up in the setup as it sits and i am concerned I will screw this up by switching to 209's this close to season

The gun has been shooting pretty darn good for me out to 130 yards with a williams peep sight, not sure if i should screw up my mojo, or switch now. I will be hunting the olympic peninsula.

Thanks for any opinions. I am pretty new to this muzzy stuff, but feeling good about my upcoming washington roosevelt season.

I was gonna shoot mine this weekend and see if they hit any different because I can cap the gun much quicker with a musket that a 209 I think it would hit the same but I wanted to try it before I start shooting at animals

The nice thing about the breach plugs is you can switch it out, shoot it and if it shoots different go back to what you were doing before and it shouldn't change anything. Shoot a 3 shot group to see what its doing and dont move your sights at all. If you switch back, everything should be the same.

1 209 and 1 musket cap I’m shooting a peep and globe set up that’s at 100 think it’s hitting pretty close to the same

Thanks for posting. That's an EPIC group! I have not been shooting THAT tight at 100.
