I picked up some 150 grain Swift Scirocco II's at the Western Hunt Expo a few weeks back. I plan on loading them up soon and doing some testing. Does anyone have experience loading these for the 280 AI? How has the terminal performance been? Ideally I would like to be effective out to 600 yards with this round. Is that realistic thinking? Thanks for the feedback.

Excellent bullet, and the best bonded bullet in my opinion. You should have no problem getting them to 2900-3000fps and they'll perform great at 600. I've shot them in 280 for a while and only switched to another bullet because I can't find em!

Thanks for the info! I saw 150 grain in 7mm on the swift site recently when I was trying to look for load data.

I killed a pile of elk and mule deer with that bullet. I have never had a complaint about it.
Always held together, very accurate and it liked high velocity.

I shot mine in a 7MM mag @3150.

Arguably the toughest bonded highish BC bullet out there, wish my 280AI liked them. I've killed a few muleys with them at 3180fps from a 7RM. 200-400yds and never kept a bullet inside.

Im working up a load right now in a Browning Hells 280AI, 150g Swift Scirocco's 60g-61.5g H4831 .020 off lands has preformed decent. will report back with final load and speeds i find.
I tired .040 and .090 off and .020 was significant tighter...
I have shot 6.5/7mm Sciroccos and have dumped everything ive pointed it at. Bighorn/bear/muleys and a coues
a Scirocco at 2950fps plus is a deadly combo!

I shoot them in my regular custom 280, with rl26, high 2900s mv. At .050 off

Bit of advice, they like jump. I start them .050, and work back as required.

A lot of guys complain that they won't shoot, but they are loading them close to the lands.

I have a couple rifles where I load them to magazine box length, and they are way off the lands. But they also shoot tiny groups in those rifles.

Great bullet and well constructed . I had a hard time getting accuracy out of a 338 win mag . As above seemed to like generous jump . Good luck

Upon shooting more groups close to the lands, it appeared that a jump was defiantly more tighter, opposite of what i originally thought.
Ive tried at .010 off all the way to .150 off.
57-62g H4831 burned about 115 swifts looking for a load here's the best-
Nosler Brass, F210 3.699 Ojive (.086 off lands) 57.8 G H4831 2900fps.

Ive shot this load a few sets of groups and have had it opened up.
Had luck also with 57g, same depth was getting 2830fps.
Im tired of burning $1 projectiles trying to find a load even though i love this bullet. The rifle I'm developing for is a Browning Hells Speed 22'' 2'' Brake 1-8 twist. I think he twist is just too fast to snug these 150s up. Or this rifle just doesn't like em. Im moving to a 168 berger or 170 class Hornady's/bergers..
lets hope its a shorter development.

Thanks for the update but bummer you had to burn through so many bullets. My home range is still unreachable due to snow but hopefully I can start to work something up in the next month or so. I'll post an update when I have something

Keep me posted, What barrel length/twist are you working with?

I have not had the time to pursue, I drew awesome mule deer bow tag in my home state so that has taken up my free time with scouting and practice, outside of work and family. It’s on the list but had dropped in priority
