Has anyone shot the swift A frames? I’m curious about thoughts on performance and if you guys have shot anything with them, terminal performance as well.

I shot 175gr A-frames out of my 7mag for years. They're great when you need to break down a big bull's shoulder to get to the vitals. They won't mushroom up quite as much as some other bullets, but they'll blow through anything on an elk. Never had an issue with them, even on broadside shots. Great bullets.

Have had excellent bullet performance on game from mule deer to elk to gemsbuk in South Africa but groups out of several guns (6.5cm, 270 and 30.06) always seem to severely open up past 150-200yds.

For a sheep hunt I'd probably choose the Scirocco II instead.
I'm with this guy ^^^^.

I dont think you need a bullet that robust, but instead a higher BC. If sticking with Swift, definitely the Scirocco II. Or go with Nosler Accubond or Hornady ELD-X.

IMO....if it flies and your confident in it.....shoot it. Nobody ever complain of something being to dead

Thanks guys. Yeah this is a bullet I’m considering shooting out of a rum on a sheep hunt in aug.
I have a buddy who swears by the 250 a-frame in his 330 Dakota. He won’t shoot anything else, should do the trick in your rum.

I used the 158 gr 357 mag a frame from rifle at about 1900 fps.

2 deer shot, no noticeable shock even tho it is a hollow point. Both did a 75 to 100 yd run w dbl lung, one was thru shoulder at 15 yds.

Also put one thru a 1.5 yr old bull's skull prior to processing it. Got about 18-20 inches of penetration, thru skull and down neck.

A frames are tough. I prefer xtp bullets out of 357 mag rifle for drt kind of performance. Use nosler partitions in other guns.
