Just got my first swfa, the 3-15 gen 2.
Does the sunshade come off? I tried twisting and I sure as heck don’t want to damage the scope by trying too hard. It’s not budging….
Any help would be appreciated…
Thanks

I haven’t had a 3-15 but do have a bunch of the 3-9’s and all of them have the objective lense very far back from the end of the scope and no I don’t think that extra part of scope is removable in front of the objective lense. Maybe the 3-15 is different?

It may not be removable then. I just figured I should be able to unscrew a sunshade and remove it if I didn’t want it on there but appears not

Mine came with the free 2" sunshade in a small box. You saying yours was installed at the factory?

I already told you that
Thank you Steve, and I appreciate it. I’ve been up since 5am and I believe you replied after I sent an inquiry to them

It is the first scope I have had that has a 1.5 inch aluminum cylinder glued to the front of the objective….

There is an old thread on another forum. Not to long after these things started getting popular. The guy pulled the sun shade off, and the lense fell out IIRC. So he took another one apart to see if the same thing would happen.:ROFLMAO:

Then he made the call to SWFA and they told him he wasnt allowed to do that anymore
