SWFA SS 3-15 cat tail

Hi All, the cat tail obstructs bolt manipulation when on 3x power. Can I simply remove it, or do I need to throw another screw in there to cap it off to protect the female thread? Thanks!

Yep just remove it if you don’t want it. I leave mine on x5 to avoid this. Added benefit is the FFP reticle is easier to see for timber pounding than at x3 anyways.
