GiantGreg, the reticle at 6x is plenty heavy enough in the woods, much better than the 3-13 LRHS I have at 6x.

I was hesitant to buy one because of weight, but got tired of lighter scopes failing on me. I picked up one last year and immediately wished I had bought one 5 years ago. The benefits of the scope far outweigh the weight penalty.

The HD lens performance surprised me in low light. I compared it head to head with a Leupold FX-6 with a heavy duplex reticle. The SWFA was brighter. The center of the Leupold reticle was a little bolder to see in lower light, but the SWFA will give you no issues. The thicker outside post of the Mil-Quad reticle are actually easier to see than the heavy duplex.

I bought one last year and couldn’t be happier with it. Going to buy another during tax day sale hopefully.
