Happy to share my thoughts on these if you like... Other than a theoretical advantage in FOV for the 7s (not noticeable in practice) the 8x HDs are a step up in every way. I am a big fan of 7s and still have two other 7x42 binos, but I preferred the 8x42 HDs over my SLC 7x42s.
