Swarovski Ocular Cover

Hello just wondering if anybody has any experience with the ocular cover that Swarovski makes for rifle scopes. Particulary the Z5 scope. I just bought a Christensen Arms Carbon Classic and mounted a Z5 with Vortex precision Low rings. It fits almost perfectly, except the bolt handle barely clears the ocular. It's so close that a Butler Creek Flip up cover stops the bolt handle from going all the way back. I was wondering if the Swaro one is lower clearance. I can't tell from the stock photo's if it is much larger than the diameter of the ocular. In some pics it looks like it screws in, in others it looks like it clamps on the rubber eye protector. Does anybody know? Does anyone have one they could snap a picture of? The scope seems at the perfect height as it is, I don't want to get higher rings.

Thanks in advance for any help

Jake

I have the Z5 mounted in med Talleys. I have the Swaro cover for the objective, but use the Butler Creek for the eyepiece. What I do is use the eyepiece cover for storage and transporting, but once I get into the field, I remove the eyepiece cover and put it in my pocket. When I carry the rifle, I either have it slung over my shoulder, or if carrying it, have it muzzle up (I use electrical tape over the muzzle). The Swaro objective cover flips up with the flick of the finger on the support hand when raising the rifle, but stays securely closed before that and appears to be airtight and watertight. The objective cover does screw in, and is very secure.
Until now, I have never had a problem with the eyepiece getting messed up with anything to obscure the vision. If it starts raining really hard (or snowing), I can take the Butler Creek out of my pocket and stick it on.
I have seen the Swaro eyepiece cover for the Z6, but I couldn't find the cover for the eyepiece for the Z5, so I went with the Butler Creek.

Just checked the Euro-Optic website, and it shows PN 44146 as the eye cover, but states it is available for the Z6 only, not for the Z5.

Thanks. It looks like it opens horizontally (flips to the side) instead of flipping up like the objective cover. I would be concerned in your case that the bolt handle might not clear the tab, and if you mount it up and down, the eagle emblem would be sideways.

Yeah, not sure about that I might be able to cant it slightly. I'm not super worried about the logo being askew, just don't want to spend $120 to find it doesn't work. It looks from the picture like it clamps on the rubber eye protection piece, just not sure how much it extends past?

I bought my objective cover from Kauffman Knives and Optics. Call there and talk to Shane. He is VERY knowledgeable about the Swaro line (Authorized dealer). Bought my Swaro EL Range from him also. 405-980-1035. He could answer any questions you have about it.
