Ryan, do they plan to discontinue any of the current lines with the addition of this one?

My current collection of swarovski binoculars is...

8x32 el sv
10x42 El sv
15x56 slc HD

As hard as it is for me to say this I am happy with what I have. I'm sure the new offerings are fantastic but at 56 years of age I can finally say I'm done chasing the holy grail of binoculars.

I can truly live with what I have and be happy with it. Did I say how hard that was for me to say.......lol

I’m with you, at least for now.

8x32 EL (2nd hand)
10x42 SLC (2nd Hans)
15x56 meopta meostar (2nd hand)

I’m good for a while. I’m interested in seeing how I like 12x, but it’s not a priority. But will be on the lookout for some 12xEL’s to hit the 2nd hand market!

It would appear that Swarovski may be clearing the way for these new binos. The x42 and x32 ELs are on sale at Cabela's now with quite a bit off. Will be interesting to see if this is a permanent price change or not. With doing gift cards through raise.com then doing activejunky, you could get a pretty "good deal" on the ELs right now from Cabela's. If I hadn't just bought my SLCs, I would be really looking at the ELs.....

I'm looking forward to reviews. Looking through the specs on Swaro's website, I'm not sure these give up anything to the ELs.

To answer my own question, the 8x42 NL FOV is listed at 477' (1000 yds) and the 8x32 EL FOV is listed at 423' (1000 yds).

It's nuts how well Swarovski keeps this stuff underwraps before releasing.

Normally you'd have all sorts of reviews out on release day but no one seems to know much about them besides posted specifications and armchair quarterbacking the binoculars.

I already know these binoculars are going to be amazing, they don't release an item unless it's perfect. I'm just intrigued on how the SLC and EL will evolve or move out of the picture from here. Oh, and... NL Pure RF's

This is the quote (from here) that will cause lots of ELs to go up for sale:

"The NL Pure is not a replacement for the Swarovski EL binoculars – ‘don’t mess with the legend,’ they tell us gravely – but Swarovski staff point out that the new model is better. "

those FOV numbers look insane. Using ELs the past few years i've really grown to love the expansive view on them. If the NL 12x42s can hang with the EL 12x50s in low light i might have to sell a kidney here soon. i'm a sucker for wide view optics

12x42 is a bit of a funny animal. For that power, I'd like to see a larger objective.
Then again, I think 12's in general are a bit of an odd in-between-er.

I would love to see these in a 15x56.

I did like during the presentation "In the past we talked a lot about edge to edge sharpness. However, there is one thing that is even better. No edges at all"

I can't imagine the NL's give up anything to the EL's
