Looking forward to the heavily discounted used SLC market
I believe that has already started.
99% of my usage with the SLC 15 is on a tripod in my living room looking at cattle and coyotes. I'm telling myself I really don't the upgrade!

Great review, thanks. Any word on if the tripod adapter works on prior NL models. I dont believe it does but just checking.

This is now an option. I talked to Rob at S&S archery about it. He has the details.

@Matt Cashell - I believe you mentioned the Meopta as a worthy competitor to the EL 15x. I have the 10x Meopta and am very happy with them. Obviously everyone’s view on value is different but trying to determine the marginal benefit of the 14x Pure vs the marginal cost ($2k). Thanks.

I have the Meopta 15s and consider them a critical piece of equipment for the type of hunting I do. They are a fantastic tool for finding game at distance. That said, I always also carry a pair of NL 10s for handheld use. The NL 14s, with the headrest and larger fov, seem like they could potentially allow a guy to skip the 10s and only carry one optic. That's the appeal to me...

I think you meant 15x SLC.

The Meopta 15x is essentially identical to the 15x SLC in performance.

So the 14x NL has the same advantages over the Meopta that it has over the SLC.

What that is worth to you, I can’t say.

I just received my 14x52 yesterday while still waiting for the 10x52 which I had ordered at the same time. It's utterly fantastic and a notuceable huge step up compared to my Meopta B1 Plus opticially. Feels much lighter than what their the specs say especially when hand held glassing with the forehead rest. I really think I can actually be content with these new NLs. They really feel lighter than my ZULU 9 and 10 and Leupold BX5 Santiams all 15x56s.

i really think the new 52s in 14x are actually worth their current asking price.

I think I need to irder the Swarovski tripod adaptor for this one and convert my other NL Pures to this current set up.

Unfortuneately mine isn't in perfect condition. Yes I bought them brand new from an authorized Swarovski North American dealer and certainly not the cheap discounted grey market ported Euro ones. There's a scratch or rub mark almost one inch long that was a very easily noticeable the moment I took it out of it's Swarovski soft case. I tried to rub out the scratch "blemish" rub mark off for a day and a half with my finger and it's now not as noticeable but it's still there.
