That’s exactly what I’m referring to. That or really good looking knockoffs. My friend has purchased 3 used pairs of Swaro binoculars off of eBay with no problems. I just don’t trust my luck. I’m not sure on what serial #s are what. I’m kind of computer dumb as well. Good luck with whatever way you go.

I just picked up my pair of 10x42 SLC's from in-store pick up at my local Cabela's today. Since I live close by and don't trust something that valuable sitting on my porch, I had them shipped for free to the store.

As others have mentioned, the best discount is the following:


- Cabela's Club Discount (10%)
- Active Junky (12%) It fluctuates from 7-15% roughly
- Cabela's Gift Cards off Ebay (20%)
- Cabela's Club Visa Points

The Club Discount brought the SLC 10x42's down to $1,620

The Ebay Gift Cards 20% discount brought them down to $1,296

Active Junky will be sending me $194.39 back which brought the total down to $1,101.61

My CC points dropped the final cost to me to under a grand. It takes a little patience, but it is well worth the savings. On top of the savings, with the store being very close to where I live, the Cabela's warranty is hard to beat if something were to go wrong.

Sorry to disappoint everyone but I just picked up my brand new in box El Range in 10x42 from the post office (as sellers do not ship thousand dollar optics without signature confirmation) and they are definitely not fake or meant for foreign markets, or whatever other tinfoil hat scenario you can conjure up. (Even if they were, I would get my money back through EBay and would then light up the seller with negative feedback.) After playing with them on top of my employers parking garage for a few minutes, I went inside and easily registered them on Swarovskis website (which ads another year to the warranty).

I think the important thing in this thread is that we all value a quality product and will be using them to fulfill our dreams. Good luck in however you choose to purchase it, and however much money you want to pay for it.

Do you want a gold star sticker for that, or what? Once you've been burned by ebay once, you never give it a second thought for high end optics. It worked for you, but hasn't for a lot of people. Toot your horn all you want, ebay isn't a forum sponsor, Camera Land is, S&S Archery is, 1shotgear is. I'll stick with those that support us.

It’s not that hard. Verify the serial number with Swarovski before you buy if it’s shown in pics or buy them if they have the return option then verify serial once you get them. If seller won’t work with you to get them registered in your name then return them. Saved a ton of cabbage on my like new ELs.

You can definitely snag some good deals on ebay especially if you are able to use their coupons or get ebay bucks. A few weeks back they had a 20% off coupon. Often you can get 8 or 10% back in ebay bucks.

Some guys have been burned by eBay before a lot of the new safety measures were put in place. Ebay also sucks for scary gun type of accessories.

Some stuff is overpriced on ebay though. Personally, I think Doc overpaid a little for those el ranges. Just goes to show you how we both can differ on an items value.

Can someone explain the Ebay Gift cards and Active Junky.

Cameraland is where I now buy all my Hunting Optics and Cameras/ Lenses. All my better Fishing reels came from Pelagic Outdoors which is part of the family. These guys are awesome to deal with. I can't recommend them enough.
