I'm in the market for a Swarovski ATS 65 HD spotting scope. however, I have the opportunity to purchase a Swarovski ATM-65-HD with 25x50 eyepiece for $2000 shipped. The spotter is an unregistered swaro demo (essentially new) and is being sold by an authored dealer.

I've seen prices for a Swarovski ATS 65 HD range from $1750 used to $2268 brand new.

From what I've read the magnesium is an older model and a little lighter but i'm not sure the difference between the 25x50 vs 20x60? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The 25-50 is a wide angle eyepiece, and that's the one I'd get. The magnesium models are identical in optical clarity, just weigh like 3oz lighter than the aluminum model.

I'm leaning toward the 25-50 option with the research I've been doing. Is the magnesium model still a good option at $2k given Swarovski doesn't make them anymore?
