I found a set of Swarovski 10x32 el’s for what seems like a good price at 1150. My question for you guys is am I going to regret the 32s over the 42s? I’ve never used much better then the vortex viper 10x42s so I’m not very educated or experienced in the world of high end optics. Also can you mount them to a tripod? That part is very important to me..what’s everyone’s opinion on the deal/Binos them selves

Are they they the latest Swarovision? If they have the black barrels, this is an earlier model (pre-2011).

For me I wouldn’t buy a 10x32 as my primary hunting binocular. You will have a smaller exit pupil resulting in reduced low light performance. I like the 32mm platform, but in an 8x power.

Personally for me $1,000 is a lot for 8+ year old binoculars. The current advantage of an EL is the field flatteners and HD lens elements. The older model will have neither.

You can often find used SLC HDs for slightly more $1300-1400.

Green barrels..pretty sure they are only a few years old at oldest. Asking seller now.

I cant speak for the 10x32 els but I can speak for the 8x32 els ... they dont give up much if anything to any of my other glass. That includes 42mm slcs and 50mm Els.

I used 10x32 SV el’s for a few years. No real complaints. They lose a little light compared to 10x42 el’s but will still take you right to the edge of legal light. They are a dream to carry, absolutely no complaints there. They can be a little sensitive on eye position but I think that’s more the size/weight of them then the optics if that makes sense.

I use 10x32 EL's in conjunction with 15's. It is a great combination, but I would probably stick with 42's if I was using a single binocular. You did not say what and where you are hunting.

Price is great for a EL SV. You’ll have to judge for yourself if the 10x32 is right for you.

I’ve got both, love the 10x32’s for just wearing around. Hate that the objective lens covers won’t stay on.

I still wonder if they are not the Swarovision model. Here is a pic of the SV model. Notice the curved black “lines” along the barrel. The non SV model has solid black on the inside of the barrels

If SV model that is a killer price. But I suspect it is not

Just get the serial # then call into swaro USA and they will give you all the history on it, then you will know for sure. The 32 models didn’t change to SV in 2010, might have been 13 or 14. Still a good price even if it’s previous model. Still great binos.

You can’t cheat the mountain

speaking for myself only, i wouldnt go 10x in 32. 8x? For me, where i hunt, it’s perfect. If i wanted 10x, i wouldnt go smaller than a 42.
All that being said, 1150 for a swarovision bino is a great deal.

Still undecided but I think I’m gonna stick with my current 10x42s until I find a good deal on something I really want..

Just FYI, I compared the 10x32 SV El model to an 8x42 Vortex Razor HD (Vortex top of the line). Compared them side by side in bright daylight and with fading light. In the middle of the day, there was no question, the Swarovski 10x32 was king. In the last bit of daylight, the 8x42 was Slightly brighter. I was kind of surprised that there was not more difference. The 8x42 was definitely brighter at the last bit of light, but it was not a night and day difference. I am sticking with the 10x32 at this point. I am pretty sure I can trade it for an 8x32 if I decide to, because more people want the 10x. The other thing that surprised me is with a bigger set of binocs, I have always had trouble holding the 10x steady enough. But with the smaller binocular, the shakiness did not bother me.

If you find too good of a deal on the Swarvoski try to get a serial number prior to purchase and check with them to make sure that the Bino's are on the up and up. I've heard that they will refuse service if they are reported lost or stolen. If you have any law enforcement friends there is a nation wide data base of stolen articles that might show up your amazing deal ain't such a great deal after all. I'm beginning to think it's nearly impossible to find a steal unless it really is stolen! I got mine through B&H camera for EL 10x42's. They are awesome but now my wife took them so I'm looking for another pair. How does that go. What's mine is hers and what's hers is hers.

I am going to be comparing a set of 10x32 Els to my 10x42 SLCs and 12x52 Els next week. I already have 8x32 ELs and in all honestly they give up nothing meaningful other then weight to my other Swaros with larger objectives.
I may switch to 10x32s in place of my 10x42 SLCs.
