Found some EL 10x42’s manufactured in 2003 that are in really good shape for $1400. Is this a good deal or should I hold out until I find a pair of Swarovision?
Just got a pair of 12x50 ELs. They are amazing, edge it edge is incredible and allows you to scan the entire FOV. Have never owned the older version however I definitely recommend the later Swarovisions. Major upgrade compared to my already higher end nockers.
We have both, SV from 2012 and earlier 10x42 EL’s from around 2003. The SV is a substantial improvement in clarity across the whole field of view. The only drawback is it weighs a few ounces more.
We still like the old EL and use it in the kitchen for checking out “whatever” down by the river and up on the mountain nearly every day. But it doesn’t compare optically to the SV version. I’d rate the SV as excellent and the older set as very good.
I got some ELs from EuroOptic open box, perfect condition for $1500 a while back, the usually have A and B demo models. I immediately returned due to the roller ball effect.
