Swaro Sts to stx regrets?

I’ll be honest, I think the 65mm on the ATX/STX suffers the most in the line up. I believe it is on par or even a bit worse than the sts/ats HD with the wide zoom. If only after weight and a 65mm in mind, I’d go ats/sts HD with wide zoom eyepiece. I upgraded to the 85mm where I think the STX/ATX shines. And I run a BTX, so it made sense.

If you need all the objectives then it’s a neat system. After many years I’ve actual gone to a designated spotter of each size I need but ran a STX for a long time. I wouldn’t go below the 85 though. If you don’t need multiple obj I’d go with a Kowa in the obj size you want.

You never put the swaro 65 up against a kowa 66? Thinking about down sizing as my hunt style doesn’t really require a big objective . Mostly light and fast

Lots of time with a STX 85 and Kowa 884 and now Kow 88S side by side. I prefer the Kowa image and really like the Kowa dual focus. I’ve looked through a Kowa 66 and 77 and they were great but not with a 65 STS or STX nearby. My hunch would be if you line up 10 guys half would pick the Kowa 66 and half would pick the STS 65. I don’t think any would pick the STX 65.

For really light and fast I’ve grown to love my little STS. If mule deer wasn’t your primary focus I think it’s amazing. It hangs in my opinion until last light.

i went from an 80 STS to an 85STX and returned the STX. I possibly got a "bad" one, but the image was darker and not as clear as my STS. I've since switched an 88 Kowa it is better than either of the swaro spotters IMO.

I’m currently shopping for STS because I’m pretty Fred up with the BTX, and now STX. So heavy, not the best image for the price. I’m looking forward to a more dedicated system.

No regrets here going up to STX. I Like being able to go from 65mm module to 85mm or more just by a quick un-twisting of the eyepiece from the objective module. ATS / STS or ATX / STX all great scopes. Alpha Glass all.
Sure quite an investment though for the ATX / STX system with multiple modules. Buy once / cry once though.

I have a 65 STM HD 25-50x, the magnesium body model they offered several years back. I constantly find myself eyeing the STX system or the STC, trying to chase something better but just can’t get myself to pull the trigger because the STM is just so good still.

The HD version with the magnesium body is rare! Don’t sell it lol!

Haha I don’t think I can! Still nothing that beats this scope really for the price, specs, and quality. If another pops up on the classified I’ve considered even making a set of big eyes with it
