Looking at a used (like new condition)

Swarovski 20-60x80 atx hd spotter

It’s about 7-8 years old.

What would be a good price and how is this compared to the newer spotters?

You mean ATS, if in good to great condition $1800. It is still a top of the line spotter, not the top but up there.

He claims it’s an atx....I can’t seem to find anything atx in 20-60x80

ATX has only been out a couple years. He’s wrong on model or age, I’m going to guess model. Get the serial number and give Swaro a call to make sure it’s all good if you feel the slight bit questionable about it.

It could be an ATM or ATS, the ATM has a magnesium body and is a little less weight but same optically as the ATS. Reason you can’t find anything, it never existed.

I would call Swaro also and have them run the SN#. They will be able to tell you exactly what it is and if it has ever been in for service. I agree with td, on the price. I sold my ATM 80 hd for 2k last year, but I included a tripod and camera adapter

The ATS and ATM 80mm in HD have a resale value between $2000-$2300 depending on condition, access. (boxes etc) and eyepiece. The ATS retails close to $3000 now.

That $1800 figure is more akin to the 65mm HD resale price.
It reads as if the scope is an ATS hd with the 20-60 e/p. I'd put the value at about $2100--hunting/scouting season and the off-season can affect prices.

I wish the value was there, last year when I sold my 80hd with 25-50 and an expensive soft cover avg price was $1700-$1800, sold mine for $1850 if I remember correctly, I originally bought it with a 20-60 eyepiece for $1800 used. Also no one pays msrp even on Swaro. I wouldn’t pay over $1900 for a used one no matter age unless you just have to have one.

We’ve seen the 65hd’s with 20-60 sell here for $1450-$1650.

You'd be surprised how many guys break down and pay retail on Swaro. It happens every day.
I'm not saying paying Swaro's website prices. Cameraland has the ats 80mm HD with 20-60, and Doug sells them all the time for about $3000.
Those are very good prices that you related for those scopes. I watch things here pretty closely as well, and any $1450+ 65mm sale was an anomaly, not the norm for HD glass. The average selling price for a Swaro 65mm HD scope with 20-60 is about $1725 on these and other forums. WIth 25-50, about $1800. Add about $350 for the 80mm.
