Swaro NL pure

A few years ago I won a set of 10x42 UHD Razors. I have no doubt that the NL’s are better. But better enough to drop $3000+?
You fall into that 95% I mentioned then. I agree the Razor UHD's are great optically, the size is what I don't like, their 8x32's are almost as big and heavy as most 8x42's. The larger sized binos are pretty much the biggest binos on the market, IMO that is their biggest downfall.

I agree they aren’t small.

I have swaro slc 10x42 and 15x56. I paid $1600 for the 10s new and $2200 new for the 15s and don’t have much more into binos as i would with 1 pair of NL. I will say I haven’t looked through a pair outside of in store but I can’t see them being THAT much better. I also worry about the long binocular with a very short hinge. Seems like it could lead to issues.

I've considered getting a pair of RF binos. They'd really help with guiding rifle hunters. But I can't see getting rid of my NLs. And a hand held RF is ideal for archery IMO.

I agree i don’t feel like they would be ideal for much. Realistically if you need a range you probably have enough time to drop binos and grab a rangefinder. The extra power would be nice sometimes I guess

Actually, the glass in a couple I'm considering are good enough I'd consider them for extended glassing. That's important to me! The ability to instantly range an animal for someone else, and still keep eyes on as they shoot is the added benefit I'm looking hard at.

When it comes to archery, I personally find a small handheld is better, especially when getting close. Ultimately, if I decide to do it, I'll have both setups. But I won't be selling the NLs just to get RF binos.

I think being a full time guide is probably the best use case but even then I'm not sold of RF Binos. I've ranged dozens of animals using my handheld for friends and family. Once I know which animal is the target I can keep track with my 7X handheld.
Some 12's with a range finder would be nice I guess but I just don't see owning a set for a stand alone bino. I use my binoculars 12 months a year and even if checking range on a dozen or more animals in the fall, I only spend a few minutes a year actually ranging animals.

I can definitely see it being nice for that. Especially if they can compete with top end glass. What ones have you looked at?

Definitely agree that a small RF is ideal for bow hunting!

I agree but if I was guiding and not a shooter very often I can definitely see it being nice especially if they are good optically

For the hunting we do, if you look at a set of $1k binos and then a set of NLs side by side at a mountain side, you'll go buy the NLs the next day.
I am sure! I have looked through many binos in that price range next to my SLC and it’s a huge difference. Then look at them again in 3 years and most 1k glass will disgust you and the swaros are as clear as when you bought them. It’s pretty impressive really. I have looked through ELs next to my SLCs and there is definitely a step up and I’m sure it’s the same with the NLs.

I didn’t have NLs but my ELs got sold because of my Zulu 6s. I would rather have the stabilization over the glass quality. Found so many more animals last year. Me and my dad both gave up our ELs. My hunting buddies have switched to zulu 6s also and got rid of their mavens and razor hds

I purchased some nls used off of here about 2 months ago upgrading from some vortex that’s I’ve had for 8 years. I could never justify the price of new ones to myself but took advantage of all the guy selling selling them used on here and got a really good deal. My hunting partner has the Sig IS and ive gotten to use them a good amount and they are a very cool bit of tech and can see why a lot of guys are switching to them.

I think it really comes down to what others have said in terms of hunting style and time in the field. If you only spend a few weeks a year or mostly do mobile elk hunting IS is the way to go. I’m fortunate enough to get to spend a lot of time in the field and where I live is mostly glassing for hours from a tripod so the nl made sense for me at the right price. After two months of use and comparing my old binos and the new ones I feel like I went from 720p to 4K definition.

Which zulu 6s do you guys run??
